Cologne at a Glance

Colgone is one of Germany's most visited and most beautiful cities. A gorgeous Gothic cathedral, a cutting edge modern art museum and a charming Christmas market are among a few of its standout attractions.

As a center of trade since Roman times, Cologne's residents have always been building new and interesting buildings. Take in everything from subterranean Roman ruins, medieval churches, 19th century civic buildings, nondescript post-war apartments to wild post-modern constructions. Architecture is one of the city's jewels.

Cologne is also a great destination for shopping and for finding art. Shop for clothes, books, house hold goods, luxury items, but also art. Galleries line the streets just east of the city center. Gallery hop for a tour of contemporary art or to find your perfect souvenir.
