Hungary at a Glance

Precious historical architecture, thermal baths, rolling hills and a rich heritage in music, art and cuisine are just some of the reasons to visit Hungary.

Imagine sinking slowly into the warm bubbling waters of  one of Hungary's many bath houses. Around you people socialize convivially and the air is thick with steam. You chose where you want to soak: people have been building bathhouses in Hungary since before the Romans. Whether you want  to enjoy the swirling waters in a richly tiled Art Nouveau architectural masterpiece or in a sleek, modern spa, there is plenty of water to go around. For the more historic minded, there are Roman bathhouse ruins scattered throughout the countryside.

You can't spend all day in the baths, or your fingers will turn into prunes. Hop out and sample different types of paprika, taste Hungarian wines, indulge in a carefully constructed desert, sip coffee on a terrace with locals. When you are fortified, the historic buildings, the museums and the rolling countryside that make Hungary famous are at your fingertips, ready to be explored.
