Limoges at a Glance

The historic city of Limoges has been creating beautiful enamel and porcelain products since the Middle Ages. Visitors love the pedestrianized areas of the city where they can explore twisting medieval streets and stately 19th century boulevards. Museums, restaurants and of course, porcelain shopping are all fun ways to get to know Limoges.

Limoges traditional winding streets, picturesque cathedrals and ancient homes make for a wonderful backdrop for exploration. It's a joy to get wherever you're going if you're walking through the medieval city or Limoges' other attractive areas. While you're in town, you'll want to try the hearty food of the Limousin region. Bean dishes, soups, stews and hearty root vegetables are all common main courses. Deserts frequently are thick cakes such as clafoutis with cherries or apples.
