Napa Valley at a Glance

Napa Valley is California's famous wine country and is home to more than 400 wineries. The valley's warmer temperatures are ideal for growing grapes used for Cabernet Sauvingon wine and other popular varietals. As many as five million people visit Napa Valley each year.

Settlers in the 19th century flocked to Napa for the fertile farmland and the abundant minerals available for extraction. Today, the area is known for its natural beauty and its hot springs. In addition to wine tours and tastings, visitors can take in the beautiful valley by arranging a hiking or biking tour. For a relaxing day, try a mud bath at a local spa. During summer evenings, visitors can pack a picnic and head to one of the summer concert series offered at the wineries.
