Riga at a Glance

Riga is Latvia's bustling capital city. After throwing off its Soviet chains, Riga has seen revitalization and now is home to killer nightlife, cool museums and a quaint old town that charms and awes.

Walk down Riga's cobblestone streets and your shoes might just click. As you gaze upward St. Peter's church takes up most of the sky. This church has had to rebuild its famed spire three times. You can climb to the top of this one and enjoy a panorama of the city. The crooked and colorful buildings of the old town stand out among the taller gray spires of churches.

Down on the ground again, admire the art nouveau buildings that help make Riga a jewel of a city. Stop at a cafe if your legs are tired, but safe your energy for a long evening at one of the city's lively clubs or bars.
