Sunshine Coast at a Glance

Australia's Sunshine Coast lies to the north of Brisbane and is more low-key than the famous Gold Coast further south. Come here to visit national parks, go surfing, or enjoy the vast stretches of golden beach.

The Sunshine Coast has a town for all types of visitors. Here you can bunk with backpackers in a hostel, enjoy a boutique hotel, or stay in a B&B. Wine-tasting local vintages, surfing, body boarding and even sky-diving over the beach are popular activities.

Surfers should check out the beach towns of Maroochy where the waves and the strips of beach-side cafes and surf shops make for a welcoming vacation. Outdoor lovers and photographers will want to haunt Great Sandy National Park where the sand dunes, swamps, forests and wildflowers never fail to dazzle. With family activities such as the Australia Zoo and Underwater World, you've got a recipe for a successful beach trip.
